PLAY BALL!

This summer the Arizona Mud Hens will compete for a National Championship July 14-21, 2007. There will be a total of 96 teams in Cooperstown from all over the United States competing for the coveted crown.

“This is a very special group of boys who truly love the game and it shows in their performance and results as a team,” says Ted Schuman, Manager.

The Mud Hens play 90-100 games per season and compete in the National Division for Super Series, Division 1 in Triple Crown and the Major Division for USSSA. They are currently one of the top teams in Arizona and have recently beaten some of the top teams on the West Coast when they went undefeated in USSSA Major NIT in Riverside, California over President’s Day Weekend.

In 2006, the Mud Hens were the #1 Seed in the Triple Crown World Series in Steamboat Springs, Colorado entering the Championship round. The Mud Hens will be having several fund raising events throughout 2007 to help subsidize the cost associated with the trip to Cooperstown. The team also has several options available to corporations who are interested in making donations.

The Mud Hens are an Arizona Corporation with Non-Profit 501C3 status. Interested parties should contact Diane Brossart at dbrossart@valleyforward.org or contact Ted Schuman at 800.231.6264.
